A little about me? First and foremost, I am a VERY involved mother and member of the PTA, volunteer for my county's school system and occasionally at the Bridge Youth Center. I am a full time commercial property manager, graphic design student and a very confident, creative, independent, honest, competitive, caring, trustworthy, dedicated, unabashed, proud black woman and most of all spiritual. I have two very intelligent and beautiful Black Griot Goddesses whom are my reason for living. I refuse to give them anything less than MY ALL and the ability to give their all. They complete me. I'm burying the roots of faith, respect, love, determination, humility, educational values & more into them now so that in the future they can blossom from the inside-out. I do not write for the money and fame but because God gave me a gift and who am I to question his authority? Again, I'm not looking for love although I do desire nothing less than to "Michelle my man's Barack" but only on GOD'S time and I won't have it any other way. I am very motivated and focused so I carry two lists of short term and long term goals with me at all times that magically seem to keep increasing day by day LOL! My interests include but are not limited to the advancement of my people, journalism, FASHION styling and design, photography, sketching, Black art (gotta love DoubleYoo and WAK), interior design, research, criminal law, reading, fun projects with the kids, getting lost in the bookstore and much more but most of all becoming a better woman and mother to my children. Yes, I am single and loving it because my first and foremost is to become a fully-fledged champion on my own and worry about finding my King later. I LOVE poetry, words, and self expression therefore I am a spoken word artist, a writer, poet, internet talk radio personality, lyricist & more so I am available for all types of freelance writing assignments for artists, magazines, books, publications, newspapers, etc. that will enhance my skills and provide exposure. I'm currently working on perfecting my skills and my style is UNIQUE, blatantly honest and there is NO LIMIT to my subject matter. I do not write for the money and fame but for the sheer passion and love of poetry and the self fulfillment of what I do. Therefore, you will not just hear me, you will FEEL me. My show is 110% non-fiction no-holds barred, dealing with issues that affect US as African Americans on a level that THIS generation can relate to, participate in and understand. My life goals include a slot on Def Poetry Jam, my book to reach the hands of Oprah Winfrey, success with my fashion stylist and design/personal shopping company. Also I'd like to maximize on my freelance graphic design and writing company Queen's Pen, write for major African American magazines (such as Essence), publish the sequel to my book of poetry as well as many books to follow including This Little Light of Mine (a collection of motivational short stories for ethnic girls illustrated by my daughters) and my first fiction novel Chastity (in progress).
